I would like to announce the incubator hatching of my baby hyacinth. 46 days after Cherane's consultation I had my first incubator hatching. Now 91 days after the initial consultation I have a second incubator hatched hyacinth. I am thrilled to say the least. Thank you Cherane!!!

Hi Susanne,
I appreciate your questions but my solution was to hire Cherane Pefley as my aviculture consultant. I gave it great thought for 1 1/2 yrs and got worn out with anxiety, frustration and being beat to a pulp. I spent an additional $20 grand and 91 days later I have 2 baby hyacinths and I am expecting more. Notes were made, data kept, organization done, adequate lighting and a mandatory controlled environment and more. If she said spit on a rock and turn around 3 x's I said "Mother May I" It was a lot of work but I am pleased with the end results.

Hi all,
Well I think I am a bit caught up on my sleep. So now I will make a
few comments although they may be for posts that are a little old.
My hy pairs do not eat/destroy the eggs. She has hatched but I
prefer to pull the eggs. I do not want to leave it to chance. Also
the hys can play and not be stuck in the box sitting.
The last time I pulled hy eggs at 5 and 10 days it was because I was
not ready to pull them earlier. It is not easy for me to check the
eggs in the nest. Unless I am willing to give up a few fingers to do
so. (My pair are very protective)
Breeding is my job and not my hobby. Yes I do make a profit. I do
not think there is anything wrong with making a profit.
I may be a bit sensitive to some questions because of the problems of
being banned from another list.
My husband was less than thrilled that I hired someone to come here.
But he sings a different tune now. We have 3 brooders full of babies
right now. I am going to order another brooder because I am now out
of room.
Whenever I want to change something in my aviary my husband Nick
says " Did you call THAT GIRL" I am not sure why but he always
refers to Cherane as "THAT GIRL". He will say..."Does THAT GIRL"
know you are doing that?? In the beginning he thought I was doing
fine with the bird business but now he sees the difference. I am up
to my eyes in baby birds. I am not complaining but just stating fact.
I hired Cherane as my aviculture consultant to come here to SEE my
aviary. She needed to be here to do her work. I do not have a
problem with that, just as I pay an electrician to come here and do
his work. I also pay my doctor for his work. You also pay for
information when you subscribe to a bird magazine or the AFA. The
consultation was for MY birds in MY area and may or may not be
appropriate for someone else. I do not want any coming back to me
saying that I did for my birds what you did for your birds and I
still do not have eggs. I am not an aviculture consultant and I have
an agreement with the aviculture consultant that I have. Cherane has
been most free with giving information over the list. She has spent
countless hours with me over the phone answering my questions.
If anyone has any problems with birds that are not producing I highly
recommend Cherane a the aviculture consultant. There were problems here that I did not recognize until after she pointed them out. But be prepared...she is a stickler for details. And be prepared to go
without many, many, many hours of sleep as you will be feeding babies as I am. round the clock for months. Today I had 5 hrs of sleep in a row!!!! It was not planned but it just happened. I am thrilled
with the results after Cherane's visit. I had spent money bringing her here but now I have $20,000 worth of babies in brooders. It was
well worth the expense. I delayed having her here for 1 1/2 yrs.
while I was thinking about it. I surely regret that. So if you are
having trouble with your breeders or eggs...the answer is right in
front of you. Do not delay any longer. You will not be sorry.

Welcome Duane,
How nice to have you here. You have sent a very nice letter of
introduction. We all will get to know you. You will find this to be
a most informative list and people are most helpful. You will notice
that we do talk about our birds and the discussion of guinea pigs
will not appear. (sorry but I just had to say that)
I was very pleased with bringing Cherane here as my aviculture
consultant. She saw things here that I could not describe over the
phone. She absolutely had to be here. There were some things that
were not a problem, or so I thought,. until I learnt better. I
would really like to write more but I can not think straight. I
think it is called sleep depravation. I will try again tomorrow.

I would like all to know that Cherane was paid for coming HERE to do
a aviculture consultation. She flew here to visit my aviary and help
me with changes that I did not even know I needed. Now I have not
been very active on any list because I have been swamped with
handfeeding since Cherane did her paid aviculture consultation. I
have been handfeeding day 1 babies for 2 months now and more on the
way.
Another point that I would like to make. My consultation was
specific for me and my area. I am in New Jersey. I have to deal
with the temp and humidity that are here. What works for someone in
Florida will not work for someone in Arizona. I have gotten
much "free advise" but what I have paid for is a personal
consultation, for my macaws in my area.
What a shame what is going on other lists. I wish to celebrate my
success. I am very proud of the success of incubating hyacinth egg.
It was a lot of very hard work. It was all time consuming and there
were times that I thought I would never be done. I breed large
macaws and it is my business, not my hobby. And I take my business
very seriously. I am thrilled to be able to say that I can incubate
hatch hyacinth macaws.

Cherane was very inspirational during her visit to my
aviary. After her visit to my aviary things it became
easier to manage. It took less time to care for the
birds and cleaning was easier. The birds are happier
now in their new enviroment and breeding more.
Although there were many problems, she tackled them
one by one and explained why the changes needed to be
made. Even if you think your aviary is productive a
visit from Cherane is surely a good investment in the
business. I plan to have her back to design my baby
room in the near future. Take it from me, it is well
worth the time, money and effort to have her come and
visit. You won't be disappointed!!
Sincerely,
Nick Petrosh

Thank you my friend for your graciousness with putting together 'TruthbeTold' above.
We are on our 12th year of practicing Aviculture. Since January 1993 Breeding the Hyacinthine Macaw has been an easy task to say the very least. My four year old Pet that I raised since she was five weeks (1994) of age gave me her first baby while in her pet cage with her playmate.
Our Aviary is 'closed' to the public. We do not have visitors to our Aviary.
With this practice, our Babies avoid all risk to Viruses such as: Beak and Feather, Polyoma, PDD and other known viruses. Also, our pet breeders and their offspring avoid any bacteria and fungus by our *closed* Aviary. Please goto the rec.pets.birds and find 'NO VISITORS PLEASE'
Instead we have chosen to have our Aviary inspected by our own Veterinarian knowing that proper testing is done with consulting and a qualified veterinarian.

Tee and Vi are the parents to Cherane's Velvet. Velvet has given
Cherane many beautiful babies.
